Traveling by Space Shuttle
Your Stargaze evening begins the moment you arrive. The Space Eye Shuttle takes you from the parking lot in Niedermuhlern directly to the observatory on the Uecht. The travel time depends on the season and, therefore, on twilight.

Live Show at the Planetarium
To kick things off, you’ll enjoy a live show beneath the impressive 8K starry sky. Together with our Space Guides, you’ll embark on a journey through the universe and learn fascinating facts about stars, planets, and the vastness of space.

Now it's time to head outside: If the sky is clear, you'll observe the real starry sky together with our Space Guides. Through our large telescope, you can discover fascinating celestial objects up close.

In case of bad weather
Even then, your Stargaze evening will continue. The telescope observation will be replaced by a related film in the planetarium.

A little snack
Light refreshments will be available throughout the event. If you'd like something else to eat or drink, you can purchase it individually at our bistro.

Return Trip on the Space Shuttle
After your evening under the stars, the Space Shuttle will take you back to Niedermuhlern.

The exact schedule will be adjusted based on current weather and visibility conditions. Therefore, the order or duration of individual program items may change.

Your Evening – Depending on the Season

Since twilight times change throughout the year, the Stargaze evenings start at different times depending on the season.

  • 8.30–9.00 pm: Journey by shuttle from Niedermuhlern
  • 9.00 pm: Programme begins
  • 11.15 pm–12.00 am: Return journey by shuttle

7.30–8.00 pm: Journey by shuttle from Niedermuhlern
8.00 pm: Programme begins
10.15–11.00 pm: Return journey by shuttle

  • 6.30–7.00 pm: Journey there by shuttle from Niedermuhlern
  • 7.00 pm: Programme begins
  • 9.15–10.00 pm: Return journey by shuttle

Getting There

Take the Space Shuttle or walk to the Uecht?

The easiest way to reach the Space Eye is by taking our shuttle from the parking lot in Niedermuhlern. The shuttle is included in the Stargaze ticket.

However, you can also reach the Space Eye on foot and combine your visit with our adventure trail to the Uecht. The trail takes you through the countryside surrounding the Space Eye and can be used either on the way there or on the way back.

The Stargaze event will take place if at least 15 people sign up. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the Space Eye Team will contact you no later than two days before the event.

Weather
Stargaze takes place regardless of the weather, but telescope observations can only be conducted when the sky is clear. If visibility is poor, an expanded planetarium program featuring a film will be offered.

Clothing
Part of the program takes place outdoors, so we recommend wearing clothing appropriate for the weather. Warm shoes, a hat, and gloves are especially useful in winter.

As a Group at Stargaze

For group visits to “Stargaze,” we offer a group rate for groups of 10 to 25 adults. This rate applies only to adults and only during official opening hours. It can be booked online through the ticketing system.
