Night of Shooting Stars

Watch the shooting star shower live at Uecht!

Perseids – The Night of the Shooting Stars

Every August, Earth passes through the dust trail left by Comet Swift-Tuttle. As a result, the Perseids transform the night sky into a fascinating display of shooting stars. The Perseid meteor shower is active from July 17 through August and reaches its peak on the night of August 12–13.

Experience the night of shooting stars together with your family and friends. Learn at the planetarium how shooting stars are formed and why the Perseids are among the most famous meteor showers of the year.

Afterward, we’ll look up at the sky and keep an eye out for the glowing trails of the Perseids. Whether you’re sitting on a camping chair you brought along, a stool, or a blanket from Space Eye—enjoy the special atmosphere of a summer night under the starry sky. A small cheese and meat platter and sweet treats from the coffee cart round out the evening.
